About
This website was created as the product of my Senior Thesis project. The project and course were completed in accordance with Dallas Independent School District and the Texas Education Agency's Performance Standard Project guidelines.
My interest in business, law, and philanthropy all led to me choosing a topic that really touched my heart and my life: the wage gap. As a Hispanic immigrant to the United States, I was given a plethora of opportunities by the tremendous amount of sacrifices my parents had to make. Because of this, I want to make the most of everything I have been given, and I believe the wage gap is one of the greatest buffers in my journey to being successful.
Along with my personal story, I see myself as a servant of the community because of programs like Boy Scouts, and wish to inform others of the illegal, and unfair, practices of underpaying people by their race or gender. One of the main goals of my project was to spread the word about the wage gap, because unawareness is one of the reasons that the wage gap has survived for so long.
If you feel like I do, or if you want to be one of the many attempting to make a change, please spread the word! Informing people will only help them in their search for labor, compensation, and benefits that they earned.
The wage gap is older than many of us, and stands for two reasons: unawareness and fear. Both can be alleviated by informing people of their rights and spreading the word of what can be legally done by those that believe they are being unrightfully discriminated against. Find a full list of rights on the website here.
Thank you for taking time to read through my website and for spreading the word if you did. Every little step can help increase awareness, increase wages for minorities, and finally close the wage gap that is so morally and lawfully incorrect.
In search of fairness and equal rights for all,
